Bolivian Criollo Black is classified as a dark type, but it has many characteristic similar to a burley. It is a vigorous grower and heavy producer reaching up to 8' in height, and reaching maturity in 70 days. It produces 26 - 28 harvestable leaves per plant. The large white stemmed leaves are very sticky and reach 14" -16" in width and 30" - 36" long. The leaves turn a light green and yellow as they ripen, and air cure easily to a light brown. The flavor is similar to a medium strength burley. It can be used for a pipe, or blended with other types.
